As we step from Christmas into a new year, Hebrews 1–2 reminds us what to do after we’ve heard the angels’ song. Christmas isn’t just a cozy story or good advice—it’s God speaking decisively through his Son. Jesus is better: better than angels, better than anything we trust for hope or salvation.
This sermon calls us to remember the true story of Christmas, to honor Jesus as the divine Son who came to purify us from sin, and to listen carefully to the Holy Spirit so we don’t drift. In Christ, the anchor has been dropped—we’ve come home. As we begin the year ahead, may we stay anchored in “so great a salvation” and let it quietly, faithfully shape our daily lives.
